Carolyn Messina's original music can best be described as Acoustic Folk/Pop... though her music style and song-writing span multiple genres, including Americana, Blues, Country, Rock and Christian.

She's a singer/songwriter, a girl with a guitar, a story-teller whose songs about life, love, loss and more come from her personal journey... experiences which nearly everyone can relate to.

A classically-trained pianist and self-taught guitarist, numerous health issues prevented Carolyn from performing for the past few years.  Multiple surgeries on her hand in 2012, 2013 and 2014 were just the start. In 2015 she was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma - a rare and aggressive cancer.

After 6 rounds of experimental chemo, multiple hospitalizations, and 4 more surgeries, she decided to go back into the studio in 2017 and record the songs she wrote during these emotional times.

Her 11-trackk CD "Stepping Stones" was completed in May 2017.  The CD includes the title track, as well as Push, Shattered and Unbroken. These are extremely personal songs that not only reflect her journey with cancer, but also the struggles so many people deal with in life regarding faith, love, friendship, fear, self-doubt, self-worth, and sometimes just trying to simply LIVE and be HAPPY.
